The Challenge
As our neurodivergent child grew, he outgrew his 5-point car seat harness long before he had the understanding – or, let’s be honest, the impulse control – to safely use a regular seatbelt.
Finding a Solution
Thankfully, through Kidsafe Queensland Inc., we discovered an alternative solution that better suited both his needs and ours. After consulting with our Occupational Therapist and completing an assessment to determine the most appropriate behavioural, safety or postural support harness for our child and vehicle, we were able to trial and purchase a harness.

We chose the Carfix 5 Point Seat Harness, which provides an added layer of safety while still being practical for everyday use. It can be easily transferred between vehicles and quickly released in an emergency.
This support has given us greater peace of mind and made car travel much safer and less stressful for our family.
