An Investment Worth Considering
This ‘nugget’ definitely falls into the investment category, and whether it’s right for your family will depend on your lifestyle and your child’s needs.
Our neurodivergent child tires easily, struggles with long distances and can wander or simply decides they’ve had enough. Busy places and long days out – especially when solo parenting – can be challenging, so we purchased a Wonderfold Wagon to help make outings more manageable.
Where We’ve Used It
We’ve used it at crowded events such as ANZAC Day commemorations and the Sydney Royal Easter Show, and were surprised by just how many other families were using one too.
Yes, it’s bulky and can be heavy to lift into the car on your own, but being able to transport our child while also carrying all the extra “stuff” has made outings much easier.
Tips Before You Buy
There are a number of different models available, so if you’re considering one, make sure you check the specifications carefully and, if possible, take your child along to try one out before purchasing.
For us, a wagon has opened up opportunities that may have otherwise felt too overwhelming or physically demanding. From community events to long days exploring, it’s allowed our child to rest when needed, while still being part of the adventure.
An added bonus? It doubles as storage for all the snacks, sensory supports, drinks, spare clothes and everything else that somehow comes along on every outing!
